For those of you who don’t know what akebi chan is. It is an anime about a girl wanting to be popular. She is a type of girl that is somewhat an outgoing person. She is an extrovert, to make things simpler. A girl, that only wants one thing in her life. To make a friend and become an idol. That is why she is wearing somewhat of a sailor suit in this anime. Probably she wants others to notice her and all eyes are looking only towards her. In this blog, I watched the third episode of the show, and again art is always the main highlight of this series.
She runs barefoot
I remember at school once that we have some kind of physical capability measuring on our P.E class back in the day. Same as what happened in this episode. However, akebi chan is actually acting somewhat weird in this episode. Unlike any other girls on this series who are doing normal things, akebi chan is really an eye-catcher. She probably wants others to watch only her alone all the time. Watching her running carefully sure does get all attention. One, probably because it was cheating. Shoes have some kind of weight to them, so if you take them off you’ll surely run faster. Second, It is really noticeable. Running barefoot on P.E will make the center of attention and I think it is quite weird and funny. In my opinion.
Akebi chan is acting weird
There is this scene when akebi chan is asking around other people to see their legs. I don’t what you think but I never heard in my life someone ask this type of question. Asking someone to see their legs is a pretty weird thing to ask someone. It will make the other party uncomfortable because of the things you have been asking about them. Akebi in our case, asking this type of question to other people with having a thought of what she was doing is weird or something. But in the end, they were both girls so it is probably fine.
The class president
Her relationship with akebi chan is another weird thing that happened in this anime. The president is acting weird around akebi chan, Probably because akebi chan is the only person in their class that acting up normally around her. The class president was looked up to by another student in their class. She is the leader type, so others think she is a somewhat really organized and proper lady. Deep Inside her, she only wants that others treat her normally. In our case, akebi chan is the only girl that is talking normally with her. And this is the part where it all started to get weird. The president probably has some kind of a crush on her. I don’t know about you but it seems to me that this was the thing that happens with the president's mind.
Another thing weird happened is when she takes pictures of herself in some kind of interesting position. It is kinda weird if you ask me that she was sending akebi chan some kinda erotic and lewd picture towards her. The president probably ave some kind of somewhat hidden side in her that only akebi chan can get out of her. It is a little weird if you look at it from afar. But in the end, I don’t dislike this show despite there being some signals that this is somewhat kind of fanservice towards men. I still like the art and the beautiful colors.
The bookie
I like her interaction with akebi chan the most in this episode. The two of them looks for a club and ended up wet. Rain falls heavily and selves were exposed to water that came out from the sky. I like the scene where the two of them interact. Akebi chan borrowed her clothes and eyeglasses while she fell asleep on akebi chans lap. If she was a boy this scene would have been a very romantic setting. The mood was right, the background music was right and it is the best time for some kind of romantic thing, But She was a girl and akebi chan is a girl. The two of them are not meant to be with each other, so the two of them are only friends, in the end.
She is probably the one that suggests to akebi chan what kind of club she should join.
Akebi is joining the drama club
This is a perfect fit for akebi chan. Drama clubs are like the real thing but for amateurs. In drama club, you get to exercise your acting skills. You will become a better actor or actress if you join a drama club. I actually experience a little bit of this drama thingy. My classmate back in the day plays on stage. It is mimicry and parody of an advertisement from television back in the day. Akebi chan on a drama club will be a perfect fit for her.
It was a nice episode in my opinion. Even though they're a lot of things that I find weird in the series such as akebi chan's weird behaviors likes, asking others to see their legs, and ending up seeding akebi chan a lewd photo of her. But in the end, I don’t dislike it, I still like the art style of this series and the studio should continue its great job of making this anime.
