Blue period is an anime about a young boy who wanted to become an artist. This show is a slice of life show that focuses on art and how it affects an individual. It seems like a wholesome and heartwarming show about art. By looking at the art and the music it seems like one of the shows that will grab and brakes my heart or something. It is a slice-of-life anime and I am soft for a slice-of-life anime this couple of months, so I am watching what will happen in this series. This is my review of the first episode of the show.
The protagonist
He is flawed and easily swayed by social pressures. This is my first reaction when seeing this character on screen. He was easily swayed and prawn to peer pressure. He smokes because his friends smoke. When he sees beautiful art, he then wants to become an artist. By looking at him easily swayed by something make me question things around if his passion for art is just a plaything for him or something.
Even though he is flawed in some way or another, we are looking at how he is going to pass all trials on her art career. We are looking for him to be better at the passion he chooses. I am personally looking forward to what happened next in the second episode. Is he going to be at Tokyo university as an art student? If we look at the fact that his parents are middle class and tell him that private schools are out of the question. He pursues on going to art school even though his parents don’t usually probably can’t afford on him to go there.
Pursuing something that makes you passionate, really takes away all the logic out the window. It throws logic like it is some kind of trash on the trash can. Defining all logic and disregarding it, is what artists are good at. Doing something creative is going out of the comfort zone. Doing something creative is uncomfortable. Doing something creative is what makes humans different from any other animal in nature. Art is what defines a human person and even what amount of logic be thrown on him as long as he is passionate is burning, he won’t be stopped.
This is what is seen in the protagonist of the show. He is passionate enough that he wants to brakes logic so that he can pursue to become a creative person doing the thing he loves. He knows what he wants as well. He wanted to become an artist. These things are very good. Knowing what you wanted in life is a determined way and a sure way of getting it. If you know what you want you are sure gonna get it.
I will be watching what will happen in the story. I am cheering for the character that he will be able to achieve the things that his passion is telling him.
