had a gacha game addiction. She always played it everywhere, even on bathrooms and hospital beds. This grandma is so meta to the modern day culture.

We all know that oftentimes anime creators try to make their anime meta, new, and fresh. The method of putting a latest model of smart phones as the technology is one technique most of the anime creators used. The reason for this is that they want the viewers to have a relatable feeling towards the characters. The reason we loved our stories and characters was that how we feel towards them and the way the authors want to cross the feeling of relatability is perfect . This makes the anime new and fresh. Let's say for example steins gate season 1 on 2007's phone models where Akibe's futuristic phone model was flip phones. Steins gate season one felt like it is an old Boomer type of anime, however when season two came and introduced the smartphone idea on the show. Somewhat when watching it, it feels current and lit. This somehow elevated the show at least 1 point. So, using smart phones on current anime is relevant for the viewers' experience.
An old person playing a gacha game in the anime. I am not against the idea of an old woman playing some weeb games, in fact I am proud of a grandma playing a cultured game. Because in reality it's nearly nonexistent that old people play gacha games, because they normally play mahjong, bingo, chess, etc. It's really likeable that they put this idea on the anime since these things are weebs dreams that their grandma would be. This stuff will make you say to yourself, "man, I wish I had a grandma like that". This is well thought by the author of the show.
Overall, the anime is likeable since it has relatable characters and epic grandmas.
