Christmas, a day of celebration. Even though most of the people celebrating it don’t really know why there are celebrating it, they do it anyway. What’s not to like about Christmas? The atmosphere makes you feel warm inside. It makes your heart feel cozy. There is something about Christmas that special.
Japanese people actually celebrated Christmas in different ways. They even make cornel sanders there Santa Claus. Usually, Japanese people didn’t know why they are celebrating Christmas. They celebrate Christmas from a different point of view. For them, Christmas is like valentines day to us. It is a romantic season where couples date and mingle with each other.
This Christmas equivalent to valentines day can be seen also in anime. In this blog, I will give the most memorable Christmas scenes from anime. From what I remember, these are the most captivating Christmas episode about romance I have ever seen. Some of these scenes are so captivating I even cried while watching them.
Toradora’s Christmas scene.
Toradora is an anime about a bunch of couples in high school mingling with each other. Most of them ended up having romantic tension with each other. It is an anime about romance, a slice of life series that is quite popular at that time. This anime is so popular you can see it recasting on every tv station.
Anywho, one scene, in particular, captivated my heart. Taiga, the female protagonist of the show, realizes her true feeling towards the protagonist on Christmas night. The scenes, the plots, the events, and the romance of this scene captured my heart. It moves me to tears. It was a heartwarming and romantic scene.
Shakugan no SHANA
It is sci-fi, romance, anime. It is an anime about people saving other people using their supernatural powers because there are these monsters that eat their souls. It is a fantasy anime grounded in a high school setting with supernatural elements with its powers. The main protagonist of this series is Shana and Sekai. They are the ones I cared about out of all the characters on this series.
One thing that captivates me on the Christmas scenes of this series is the part when Sekai has to choose between the two girls in two different places. While watching that scene, I remember the tense feeling inside me. I was excited to see who Sekai is going to end up with. The feeling on that scene is heartwarming and cozy. I liked the atmosphere and the feel.
Toradora and Shakugan no Shana, in my opinion, have the best Christmas episode on anime. It has the feels of romantic and heartwarming elements on it. It is a Japanese way of celebrating Christmas.
