Compared to other love live groups, Liella seems to be lacking in the member's department. There are only 5 members compared to other groups on the love live franchise. I think I know the reasons why this is the case. This is just my opinion and put a grain of salt on this. XD
5 members are manageable
Managing plenty of people seems like a pain since every girl in the group has a different type of personality. These personalities might crash with each other, thus, it is hard to manage it. In, my opinion is the reason why the managers think 5 members are really manageable and an easier way of making idol groups. In fact, bandori has only 5 members on them,
They trying to compete with bandori
In my opinion, the managers of love life must have been competing with bandori. Bandori is also an idol group who also love by the Japanese. They share the same audience. Bandori has only 5 members on them. In my opinion, the reason why leilla has only 5 members on them is that they are trying to compete with bandori.
Social distancing
It is easier for them to not get the coronavirus since if five members means there is a lot of space between them. This means when they dance they won’t get the coronavirus because of the amount of space empty.

In my opinion, the reason why love lives have five members is that 5 members are manageable and a better way not to get the coronavirus because it will help on social distancing. May also they are competing with bandori
