Another season of Higurashi came out to watch and to talk about it. I watch episode one and below are the things that came to my head while watching the show.
Reina is broken
Sadly, Reina has a sad background story on this timeline. She’s only a kid when her mother betrays her father and finds another man. This broken and unstable family led Reina to insanity. The serum sure was helpful to make her insane however the brokenness and unstable family at that time was the first sign that she has a mental illness. This is why when Satoko noticed that she was acting weird, Satoko use the serum. Because of that she went insane and probably kill them all on this timeline.
I don’t know the appeal of this anime
There is a gore theme of the show. It is also pretty well animated, to be honest. The blood, the actions, and the dark elements of the show were pretty well animated. The question that lurking in my mind while watching this show was, what's the point of animating this when the story and this scene I had seen hundreds of times on the previous season. In my opinion, this was a waste of talent and money. They should have focused on Satoko and Reina in my opinion. Maybe that the problem of this show. It’s kinda annoying seriously, that this episode was the copy of the previous episode on the previous seasons.
Satoko is selfish and crazy
She wants to take the neppa girl all by herself and it is pretty selfish. She wants to be with her forever. This results in them being stuck at that timeline for almost eternity. I don’t about you but if you were there you’ll go insane. I'm pretty surprised, to be honest, that they didn't tell riena, Kenichi, and others that they have been repeating the same timeline over and over again. This is the definition of hell.
Why did they animate this and who is the intended audience
I don’t know honestly but I think they want their audience to kill people? whenever you see gore and blood every week, this will influence you that these are acceptable practices in your subconscious mind If you are not conscious enough. This isn’t recommended if you are unconscious of this kind of stuff.
This anime is weird
Well, Japan is a weird and alien country after all. I am not leaving there and I don’t see what are the circumstances the people have been leaving over there. But, this is for certain that this anime is weird, and if you are not careful enough this action of gore and blood will go to your mind and influence you.
